View Full Version : Rock Band

We just got The Beatles Rock Band. The equipment is really nice. We have three different guitars, one for each of John, Paul and George, and the custom drum set that has "The Beatles" drum head. Now, if only my new XBox wasn't on a plane in Illinois!

My wife and I are avid Rock Band players. We've been playing on my son's old PS2 for almost two years. We both play on Expert on every song, and can get 5 Gold Stars regularly on several of them. I play bass, and she plays lead. (Except on Alanis Morisette - we swap parts on that song because about half the time I just cannot play that bass line well enough to survive.)

I'll add some of my Gold and 100% screen shots at some point.

I wondered how long you'd be able to hold out on the Beatles.

It was released 9/9/09, so I made it more than a month!

Of course, I got *every* limited edition and special thing there was. And a new, top-of-the-line XBox to play it on.

We finally got the XBox. Karen hates the game. The timing is so different from our old PS2 that it's a tough adjustment. I'm doing better because I have to adjust to a new guitar as well as timing.

We'll be back to 90+ percent in no time.

Edit: We had to call our son to figure out how to get the guitars to be recognized by the game system. (The Captain.)

Beatles Rock Band update: We recalibrated manually (actually, Morgan did it), and now the game is fun for everyone. I bought the remainder of the Abbey Road album as downloadable content, and it is so cool! One of the "song" choices is the side 2 Abbey Road medley of 7 songs. That is an intense work-out.

It is also very hard, in spots, since we all play on expert.

I also got Rock Band 2, bought 6,000 "points" on Xbox Live, and downloaded about 50 new songs - lot's of classic rock from the 80s. Now, all we have to do is to learn how to play all that!

Ian! Wht the hell is up with this lyric: "Yellow lorry slow, nowhere to go"

We were playing tonight, and my fingers started bleeding. Playing with a band-aid was odd, yet I still continued.

A lorry is a truck. Stuck in traffic.

A lorry is a truck. Stuck in traffic.

Yes, I know it's a truck. but hat does that have to do with "out of college, got no rent" and such? "Yellow darkness, oh, nowhere to go." what did the Beatles have against yellow?

Remember, their Submarine was Yellow.

"Oom-pah oom-pah, shove it up your jumper..."

Eh? I'd ask what a "jumper" is, but I probably don't want to know. "Ho-ho-ho, hee-hee-hee, ha-ha-ha".

Rock Band 3: Huge song list, with a KEYBOARD! 25 or 6 to 4: Chicago, Bohemian Rhapsody: Queen, and too many others to list. I'll be busy for a while.

What fun: Karen and I sight-reading on Expert. I got 5 gold stars on She Was: Talking Heads. I Rock (at Bass)!
