The 'Special Extended Edition' is rated "PG-13 for intense epic battle sequences and frightening images." Duh! I watch it for the battles.

Okay, where and when is the long planned day-long three-part extended version marathon? I'm sure many have thought about just such a thing.

If there are objections, I will defer to Tolkien and/or AD&D when I need to fill in the blanks while developing the culture of the various races.

Each movie is a little more than 3 hours long. (The special, extended versions.) So, bring snacks!

It's a real treat to watch on the big screen with the sound cranked up!

Okay. Your place, tomorrow!
Can I bring my orc friend if he promises to behave during the battle sceens? You know how he can get.

I had to watch the series by myself! Where were you?

Anytime would work for me. Just remember to bring food and beverages.

Schedule:

The Fellowship of the Ring: 10 A.M. - 1:30 P.M.
Lunch break - food and beverages
The Two Towers: 2 P.M. - 5:30 P.M.
Dinner break - pizza
The Return of the King: 7 P.M. - 10:30 P.M.

Just a suggestion. There may be some time required additionally for relaxation, as watching the whole series at loud/intense level can be more than a little fatiguing.
