Player Races
There are six Races that the player may choose. Each of these Races has varying attributes and combat ability.
The
DATA column shows the basic data, such as weight, hits and carrying capacity for the race.
DEFENSE shows the combat adjustment against the various type of weapons.
ATTACK shows the adjustment for hand-to-hand attacks,
THROW for thrown weapon attacks,
MISSILE for missile attacks and
SPELL for magical attacks for this race. The Attack value modifies your chance to hit, Dam Base and Dam Rand are the base damage and random variation. Rng Base is the short range distance, which is at the base attack value, and Rng Max is the maximum attack range. The Attack value is adjusted down for distance beyond Rng Base by -10 for each distance increment of the base range.

Human | The Human race is the most versatile since they may assume any of the five character classes. They are of average strength, intelligence, speed and size. Reproduction is moderate. |

Elf | The Elf race can choose any class, but they are limited in level in some of them. Though weaker in hand-to-hand combat, they are quicker and more intelligent than humans. They are smaller than humans and reproduce very slowly - the slowest of all the races. |

Dwarf | The Dwarf race is limited in classes. They do not practice magic, so they can only be Warriors or Priests. They are very strong in hand-to-hand combat and are of average intelligence.. Dwarves reproduce slightly more slowly than humans. |

Orc | The Orc race is a versatile race that is unlimited in class, as are humans. They reproduce more quickly than humans, and are almost as strong as dwarves. Their intelligence, however, is somewhat limited. |

Goblin | The Goblin race is limited in classes. They do not practice magic. They may be Infantry, Mounted Infantry, Cavalry, Bowmen, Mounted Bowmen, Warriors or Priests. Goblin cavalry and mounted fighters ride huge Wolves that they breed specially for that purpose. Goblins are of low intelligence. |

Ogre | The Ogre race is very limited in class choice, able to choose only from Infantry, Bowmen, Warrior and Priest classes. They are incredibly strong - the strongest of all the player races. They are the least intelligent of the player races. They reproduce slowly, as the children take a long time to mature. |

Centaur | Centaurs bear the upper body of a man atop the body of a horse. Thus they have all the swiftness and charging power of a steed combined with a man's ability to wield weapons. Many are warlike, though others are peaceful if slightly antisocial. |

Titan | Titans are immense and powerful beings. They go scantily clad in even the coldest climates, displaying their violet skin. They seldom associate with other races, though will on occasion aid those who come in peace, or destroy those who provoke them. |

Troll | Trolls are large, fierce creatures. Their brute strength and regenerating flesh make them among the most dangerous enemies to be found in Aragon. Most are cruel and vicious, and delight in raiding settlements to capture new slaves. |

Giant | Though related to titans, whom they resemble in their gargantuan size and immense strength, giants seldom share the quiet and cultured ways of their violet-skinned cousins. Instead they often treat the smaller races as prey, to be hunted and devoured. |
